Sirius Systems Consulting helps you manage your information, automate your business processes, and improve the quality of your products and services.

Over the past twenty-five years we have successfully helped our customers transform the way they do business by analyzing, designing, developing, and testing software solutions.

Founded in 1996, Sirius Systems Consulting combines the unique and complementary talents of partners Paul Grimm, Scott Hisey, and Scott Kuentz.

Paul Grimm, Founding Partner

Paul Grimm is a software craftsman and the founding partner of Sirius Systems Consulting. After ten years working as an employee for various manufacturing and software consulting firms, Paul realized his lifelong entrepreneurial dream of becoming an independent software consultant.

Throughout his 40 year career, Paul has architected, designed, developed, tested, and implemented a wide assortment of software solutions including data migration, integration, reconciliation services, test automation frameworks, customer relationship management (CRM) systems, retail point-of-sale (POS), credit authorization processing, warehouse management systems (WMS), investment account management, image processing, and more.

Paul has worked across a range of industries including financial services, retail, government, non-profit, manufacturing, and distribution.

Prior to forming Sirius Systems Consulting, Paul worked as programming project manager for Interlink Technologies, an IBM Business Partner specializing in the design of custom warehouse management systems.

Additional Information

Paul learned BASIC programming on a TRS-80 (he was a frequent fixture at the local Radio Shack) at the age of 12. He soldered together his first computer from a kit at age 15, wrote his first COBOL program (on punch cards) at age 16, and obtained his first programming job (RPG II on an IBM System/34) at age 18.

Passionate about user interface design and creating better ways to develop software, Paul evolved from developing green-screen applications using procedural languages into the wonderful and colorful world of graphical user interfaces and object-oriented programming using PowerBuilder, earning the coveted Certified PowerBuilder Developer credential. Since then Java has become his object-oriented language of preference—although he can still fly through PowerBuilder code with the greatest of ease!

In his never-ending pursuit to be more of a computer geek, he spends much of his free time learning and exploring new languages and technologies. An advocate for open source, Paul's favorite open source project is Eclipse, using it as an integrated development environment, a platform for building applications and tools, and for "anything and everything" that enhances his ability to produce high-quality solutions for his clients.

Sirius–The Binary Star: Our Namesake

Sirius is the brightest star in the sky and the sixth nearest star to Earth, at a distance of 8.6 light-years. Sirius, also known as the Dog Star, is the prominent star in the Canis Major constellation.

Sirius actually consists of two stars, known as a binary star system. The brightest of the two, named Sirius A, is a main-sequence star with twice the mass of our Sun. Sirius B has evolved from a a main-sequence star into a dense white dwarf, the result of having consumed all of its nuclear energy. The Sirius star system is between 200 and 300 millions years old, compared to our Solar System at 4.5 billion years old.

Sirius Systems Consulting, a bright computer technology company, appropriately named after the brightest star–Sirius.
